How to Sell Pre-Owned Hermès Pieces in Your Boutique

Does your shop only carry basics like pre-owned Louis Vuitton Neverfull and Speedy pieces? If the answer is yes, we need to talk... about Hermès.
We understand that Hermès can be a little intimidating. With a higher price point and for the most demanding clients, it can be difficult to make the leap from Louis Vuitton and Gucci to Hermès. Fortunately, we can guide you into the world of H luxury. We’re not saying you need to get a dozen Birkin and Kelly bags, but investing in one or two pieces can really increase your clientele and your revenue.
Which Hermès pieces should you buy?
So, you’ve decided to invest in Hermès... Congratulations, we’re very happy for you! Now let’s discuss what we think you should buy for your first pieces.
Hermès Evelyne bag

Although the Evelyne is not a Birkin or a Kelly, it is an excellent investment at a much lower price than a Kelly or a Birkin. The Evelyne, which is made of Epsom or Clémence leather, was originally designed to carry horse grooming equipment and was perforated on one side so brushes and sponges could dry on the go. The perforated H logo has become a highly coveted motif and makes it instantly recognizable.
The Evelyne comes in three sizes: the PM (medium), the GM (large) and the TGM (the largest). While the TPM (mini) was discontinued in 2019, the PM is the most popular size and the GM is too large for most frames. The Evelyne has also been released in three generations: Generation I features an adjustable shoulder strap and no exterior pocket. Generation II has a non-adjustable shoulder strap and an exterior pocket. Generation III (current model) features an adjustable shoulder strap and an exterior pocket.
Margins on an authentic pre-owned Evelyne bag are generally between 25% and 30%, depending on the bag, color, size and condition.
Hermès scarf

These elegant scarves are the gateway into Hermès. We suggest getting one or two brightly colored scarves, and only in the Carré 90 as it is the most popular size. These items make excellent gifts, so be sure to keep them close to the checkout and only invest in items in B condition and above.
Margins tend to be 30% to 45% for authentic pre-owned Hermès scarves, which again depends on the style, print and condition.
Hermès Clic H bracelet

One of Hermès’ signature jewelry pieces, the famous Bracelet Clic H sits atop this timeless bracelet of exquisite beauty. Made in gold-plated metal or palladium with colored enamel, it is available in PM and GM sizes, with most people preferring the PM with gold-tone hardware.
If you invest in an authentic pre-owned Clic H for your store, aim for B condition and above, as the fewer scratches there are, the higher the resale value.
